We are Andres, Sherry, and our three adventure pups: Crimini, Enoki, and Ginger. Together, we are Los Buena Vida—a married Latino couple navigating the open road in our self-remodeled 1991 Toyota RV, affectionately known as “La Chata.” She might be small and slow, but she is mighty! When we aren’t behind the wheel, you’ll likely find us scouting out local bakeries (Sherry’s weakness), hitting up ice cream parlors (Andres’ obsession), or enjoying a quiet park picnic with our dogs.
From Foodies to Full-Time Nomads
Since meeting in 2017, we’ve been fueled by a shared passion for diverse cultures and incredible food. As a professional chef, Sherry introduced Andres to the world of fine flavors—and we haven't stopped tasting our way across the map since. In 2019, we sought a more authentic way to explore, leading Andres to discover our beloved Toyota "Toyhome." After a few months of light conditioning, we hit the road. However, in mid-2021, a devastating accident nearly ended our journey. While many would have walked away, we saw "La Chata’s" potential. We stripped her to the studs and began a full reconstruction.
Living in a vintage rig is a labor of love; driving a tiny home up mountain passes and down unpaved roads is like putting your house through a constant earthquake. Maintenance isn't just a chore—it’s a way of life!
Our Mission: Sustainable Travel & Community
To date, we’ve explored 24 National Parks, half of the U.S. states, and 28 countries—yet our bucket list only grows longer. The most rewarding part of this journey hasn't just been the views, but the community. We have hosted and mentored hundreds of aspiring nomads, helping them transition into the RV lifestyle. We are dedicated to sustainable travel and honoring our planet, while always boosting local economies by reviewing small businesses along our route.
